Safety instructions:
Please read the safety instructions through before
you start to mount the antenna, and follow these
closely.
When mounting an antenna a high degree of responsi-
bility is required towards yourself and others.
Mounting should therefore be carried out only by
schooled personnel.
Important aspects on safety are listed here for your
notice. These may not be complete as we are not
cognisant of the local situation.
1. Only use the antenna for the use it has been desi-
gned for by the producing company.
2. Only use the elements prescribed by the producing
company, and do not alter these.
3. Note: Danger for life. Antennas must not be
mounted below any voltage carrying
power lines.
You may on contact with any such
power line, bodily or with any part of
the antenna, suffer a fatal shock or
be badly burned.
4. When chosing the installation site consider carefully
all building typical features.
When installing on any roofs, on the edges of buil-
dings and on any cylindrical buildings, safety stan-
dards (e.g. DIN 1055 Part 4 or 4131 or national safety
standards) indicate that one should consider higher
wind or vibrational loading. Any non consideration
could lead to exceeding the loading or oscillation-
loading limits.
5. Do not mount the antenna on buildings with lightly
inflammable roofing (eg Straw, reed, or other such
material.
6. Step onto only stable, dry roofing and secure yourself
against falling.
7. Ladders, scaffolding, safety harnishes a.s.o. should
be secure and controlled before use.
8. Any passing pedestrians must not be endangered by
any eventually falling material. Secure the danger
zone.

9. Ensure that the technical limit values (eg wind
loading) of the used antenna mast are not
exceeded.
Should this not be known, then secure the data
from the supplier. Kathrein mast data is on page 3
of this guide.
10. Install the antenna mast on firm and suitable
material (wall, concrete, beams) using the supplier's
recommended clamps, dowels and screws.
11. Leave any roof immediately in case of thunderstorm
and lightning.
12. Earth the antenna carefully as per the national or
European standard (eg DIN EN 50083-1).
The UHF antenna series OLYMPIA is specifically
designed for the reception of terrestrial TV signals
for household use. A household antenna is defined
in DIN 4131 as an antenna with maximally 6m. free
mast length and a fixing moment of up to 1650 Nm.
