    1: Installing the speakers This receiver allows you to use a 5.1 channel system (5 speakers and one sub woofer). To fully enjoy theatre-like multi channel surround sound requires five speakers (two front speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers) and a sub woofer (5.1 channel).

    Other Operations Switching between digital and analog audio (INPUT MODE) When you connect components to both digital and analog audio input jacks on the receiver, you can fix the audio input mode to either of them, or switch from one to the other, depending on the type of material you intend to watch.
